Bello is taking a break

Filed under:

I've handed over the 'Chaos-lord' title over to Michelle (Sakkara, Narkis) because I intend to take a break from Age of Conan for a while.

I hadn't really planned on a break, but for the past two weeks the game just hasn't been fun for me. I've logged in to socialize here and there, but after I hit 75 or so I haven't found any content I'd consider compelling enough to play. I'm not really an Alt guy, although it's tempting because the lower level stuff I found a lot more satisfying.

I won't go into detailed criticism of Funcom here (I'll leave that for my blog), though I'm happy to discuss it in replies.

I'd said that "unless Funcom somehow screws up"-- well yeah, I do feel let down. I'm considering other games while I wait and see what direction AoC takes. At the moment I'm dabbling in City of Heroes and in the fall I'll be trying Warhammer Online.

As a guild, we'll still have plans for games here and there, but nothing as long-term as we planned for AoC, at least not until a game has been out for awhile and proven to have the content we wish to work on. =)

I'll drop back in from time to time to see what the state of the game is in AoC, but I won't be actively playing. Sakkara has access to all of Bello's resources for the guild.

I feel bad that my disappointment in the game may leave some of you guys in the cold. I take my responsibilities seriously, but I also cannot feel like this game is a chore for me. That's why I need to take a break. I will not leave my friends stranded, I'll most certainly be around here on our forums. And if Funcom pulls this one out of the fire I'll be back in Hyboria and if not I'll see you guys in other games.

City Construction

Filed under:

Last night we put up our Temple, Library, Barracks, Thieves Guild and a corner Tower all in rapidfire succession.

Here's the quick video assembled showing each of the buildings going up:

Looks like our tier 1 city is more than halfway complete. =)

As usual, screenshots will follow in the comments.
